The History of the Defenders

I really enjoyed the Netflix Defender's series. Although I heard that the ratings weren't great but I thought the series was well worth watching. But who are the Defenders? The Netflix Defenders has almost nothing to do with the original comics version of the team. Variant presents a nice overview of their complicated history. Have a look.
